Mexico’s Best Kept Secret, Now a Little Easier to Bring Home

Chactun is more than a name. It’s a tribute to culture and craftsmanship — to the jimadores who hand-harvest blue agave in the highlands of Jalisco, to the maestros who slow-roast it in brick ovens the way their grandparents did, and to a land that has been giving up its secrets, one agave heart at a time, for generations.

Named for the Mayan god of the forest and wilderness, Chactun honors a legacy of reverence for the land it comes from. It’s authentic. It’s unhurried. And starting October 1, it’s available by special order in 375ml bottles at North Carolina ABC stores — so you can bring home the whole story, or just start with one.

Three expressions, one heart

Chactun Blanco is the tequila the way it was meant to be tasted first: crisp, clean, 100% additive-free, with a finish of honey and nutty caramel.

Chactun Reposado rests until it finds its balance — a delicate vanilla character with a whisper of tropical fruit. It was recently named a Platinum winner at the 2025 SIP Awards, voted on by real consumers who tasted it the same way you will.

Chactun Añejo takes its time. Aged in oak, it pours a warm amber and opens with vanilla, caramel and toasted wood — a slower sip for when you want to sit with it a while.

A North Carolina story from the start

Chactun has called North Carolina home since its very first bottle, distributed by Daytoon Distributors and built by the same team behind Blue Shark Vodka. Every bottle still travels the same path: from a family farm in Jalisco, where the agave is given the time it needs to reach its fullest expression, to the coast of North Carolina, where it lands in your glass.

The new 375ml special order size doesn’t change any of that. It just makes it a little easier to say yes to all three — or to hand a bottle to a friend and let them in on the secret.

Available by special order at NC ABC stores beginning October 1. Ask your local store to bring in Chactun Blanco, Reposado or Añejo, and raise a glass to a tequila with roots, with soul, and with a story worth savoring.
